Frederick Daniel Frissell, III, 93, of Burlington died at the Hospice Home on Tuesday, October 1, 2019 following a brief illness.
Fred was born in Philadelphia, PA. He was the husband of Jean Millikan Frissell for 70 years, who survives. He was son of Frederick Daniel Frissell, Jr. and Mary Kathryn Saxton Frissell, both deceased.
He graduated from Burlington High School in 1943, attended N.C. State University and graduated in 1949. He was in the U. S. Navy from 1944 – 1947 during World War II and served in the Philippines. Fred and his father started Frissell Fabrics and was successful for many years. Mr. Frissell was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Burlington.
Survivors include his wife, Jean; daughter, Anne Frissell Faucette and husband Bill of Graham; two sons, Frederick Daniel Frissell, IV and James Millikan Frissell and wife Robin of Charlotte; sister, Patricia Frissell Nicholson of Burlington; nine grandchildren, Jason, Jeremy, Lindsay, Leslie, Jim, Brian, Matthew, Nakisha and Chad; and fourteen great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Mary Josephine Holt and Kathryn Elaine Neese.
A celebration of life will be conducted at the First Presbyterian Church of Burlington on Friday, October 4, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. by Dr. Ronald L. Shive. There will be a reception in the John Knox Room immediately following the service.
