Frances Spicer Hovdesven

Frances Spicer Hovdesven, born August 12, 1937 in Elkin, NC passed peacefully June 24, 2020 at AuthoraCare Hospice in Burlington, NC.

Daughter of Alton and Ruth Spicer of Burlington. Sister of Glenda Fuller (Bob), Betty Howle (Bill) and Martha Hess (Vernon). Mother of David Hovdesven, Lisa Kaczor and Michelle Baltierras. Grandmother of eight and great grandmother of two.

Fran graduated from Walter M. Williams High School in Burlington in 1955, she earned an MBA in executive business from New Haven University in Connecticut.
She was a Sales Executive at Robertson Paper Box in Connecticut, her territory included Puerto Rico, New Jersey and New York. She retired from her last employment in the printing and packaging industry in North Carolina.

Fran was independent, adventurous and hard working. She loved the beach, cooking, volunteering, camping and traveling. She’s lived in some interesting places with Puerto Rico being her favorite. She retired early to travel across the country visiting her children, sisters and friends - exploring beaches and campsites along the way.

A celebration of her life will be held in the future.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in her honor to AuthoraCare Hospice, Burlington or The Davis Street United Methodist Church.
