Debbie Baynard Brotherton, 63, of Burlington passed away at AuthoraCare Collective Hospice Home on Wednesday, June 2, 2021 following a brief illness.
A native of Alamance County, she was the loving wife of David Brotherton, who survives and the daughter of Joseph Scott Baynard, Jr. and Elizabeth Lane Baynard, both deceased. She worked in hospitality for many years with local restaurants. Debbie was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Burlington and the American Legion Auxiliary. She enjoyed water skiing, camping, being in the outdoors; and spending time with her dogs, Cricket and Sparkles. She loved her time at Sycamore Lodge Campground with family and friends.
In addition to her husband, survivors include a brother, Joseph S. Baynard, III and wife Lisa of Fuquay Varina; sister, Joyce Baynard of Danville, VA; father and mother-in-law, Roy and Betty Wallace of Charlotte; sister-in-law, Shelly Brotherton of Aiken, SC; brother-in-law, Scott and wife Angela of Maiden, NC; several nieces and nephews, Joseph Baynard, IV and Andrew Baynard, both of Fuquay Varina, Kelly Snow and wife Grace of Washington, DC, Rose Brotherton of St. Petersburg, FL, Samantha Hunt and Justin Hunt of Charlotte; and other extended family members.
A memorial service will be conducted at the Rich & Thompson Chapel in Burlington on Saturday, June 5, 2021 at 11:30 a.m. with the family receiving friends from 10:30 until 11:30 a.m. prior to the service. Dr. Ronald L. Shive will be officiating the service.
