Frances Lynch Bailey, 76, of Burlington gained her angel wings at Alamance Regional Medical Center on Friday, September 11, 2020 at 6:40 a.m. following a 30 year battle with Multiple Sclerosis.
A native of Alamance County, she was the wife of F. J. “Jim” Bailey, who survives and the daughter of David F. Lynch and Helen Pass Lynch Wagoner, both deceased. She graduated from Southern Alamance High School in 1962, where she was homecoming queen her senior year. Following graduation, she worked as the credit manager at Koury’s Dress Shop in Burlington. She went on to work in the Alamance County Tax Department, from which she retired in 1990 due to complications of multiple sclerosis. Frances’ primary interests in life were spending time with her family, working in her flower beds, and tending to her vegetable garden.
In addition to her husband of the home, survivors include two children, Christopher James Bailey of Burlington and Chandra Bailey Tippett and husband, Scott of Oak Ridge, North Carolina; three grandchildren, Mckenzie Tippett, Kenan Tippett, and Cameron Tippett; three brothers, Larry Lynch (Linda), Danny Lynch (Kathy), and Michael Lynch; and sister-in-law, MaryAnn Lynch. She was preceded in death by a brother, Jimmy Lynch.
The funeral service will be conducted at the Rich & Thompson Chapel in Burlington on Wednesday, September 16, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. with the family receiving friends from 12:45 until 1:45 p.m. prior to the service. Burial will follow in Pine Hill Cemetery.
