Obituary

Mrs. Fay Plummer Thompson, 71, of Salisbury, died Friday, May 20, 2022 at the Rowan County Medical Center in Salisbury.

Born in Manchester, Jamaica, West Indies, Mrs. Thompson was the daughter of the late Huburn Plummer and the late Arozita (Rose) McLeod Plummer.

Mrs. Thompson worked as a home health care provider for many years in and around Burlington, before retiring at the age of 63.

She is survived by her beloved life partner - Joseph Smith; daughter - Sophia Burnett and her husband, Derek; two sons - Christopher Thompson and Val Thompson and his wife, Cortney; nine grandchildren; one great-grandchild; four sisters - Norma Hamilton, Joyce Plummer, Angela Plummer and Shelia Jones; a brother - Frank Plummer; and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends for visitation Saturday, June 4, 2022 at Rich and Thompson Funeral Service in Burlington, from 11:00 to 12:00 PM. At 306 Glenwood Ave. Burlington, NC 27215.

A funeral service will follow at noon in the Rich and Thompson Chapel.

Entombment will take place in the mausoleum at Alamance Memorial Park immediately after chapel service.
