Evelyne R.Thomason

On Thursday, July 30, 2020, Evelyne R. Thomason passed peacefully on her 93rd birthday at Twin Lakes Lutheran Retirement Community, Burlington, NC.

Mrs. Thomason was born July 30, 1927 in Lexington, NC to Clarence E. and Dorothy Leonard Russell, the first of five children.

She graduated from Lexington High School and attended Lenoir Rhyne University. Mrs. Thomason was first employed with the accounting department of AT&T (Western Electric) in Winston-Salem, NC and later as a teaching assistant with Burlington City Schools in Burlington, NC.

She enjoyed playing bridge, traveling, sewing, cooking, music and singing and had a beautiful alto voice, which she shared with many choral groups.

Left to love and cherish her memory are two daughters, Lynne T. Park (David G.) of Tobaccoville, NC and Devin T. Smith (John) of Burlington, NC. Six grandchildren; Stuart T. Park, Ashley Park-Rich (Brandon), Laura S. Evans (Aaron), Alex Smith (Erin), Mallory Smith and Brianna Smith; and seven great grandchildren.

At her request, the family will hold a graveside service of remembrance on a future date.
