Mrs. Marie Clapp Paul, 91, of Liberty passed away at her residence on Monday, October 4, 2021 at 11:10 a.m.
A native of Guilford County, she was the wife of the late Marshall Vernon Paul and the daughter of John Alson Clapp and Ada Smith Clapp, both deceased. She was a member of Low’s Lutheran Church where she was a Sunday School Teacher and served on various church committees. Marie and Marshall enjoyed playing cards with friends. She especially loved having family over for Sunday lunches, holidays, and birthdays.
Survivors include a daughter, Jan Broach and husband Ken of Burlington; two grandchildren, Jena Kiser and husband Derek and Holly Way; son-in-law, Jan Way; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Kathy Way and 12 brothers and sisters.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to her caregiver Penny Butler for her kindness and care.
The funeral service will be conducted at Low’s Lutheran Church on Friday, October 8, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. by The Rev. John Mark Beam. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will greet friends following the committal service.
