Mrs Eunice Ellen Trotter Crotts

Eunice Ellen Trotter Crotts passed away peacefully on September 22, 2019. Eunice took joy in life, loving and caring for her family with unconditional love. She enjoyed immensely spending time with her family in the mountains, at the beach and every family gathering. She had a rare gift in making little children feel loved. Eunice was a Charter member of St. Paul’s United Methodist Church a member of the United Methodist Women’s Circle and taught Sunday School for many years to the young children who always cried for her if she missed a Sunday. She was part of a gospel group as a teenager in Randolph County with her mom, Pearl Trotter, and sister Evelyn. She was a lovely lady who loved all things beautiful and made everything and everyone more beautiful around her. She especially loved dolls with their sweet expressions and Christmas.

She was a devoted and loving wife to her husband Ben for 73 years. She was the best friend of her children as well as the best mother who ever lived – always calming and soothing us, wanting us to be happy and safe. She dearly loved her daughter-in-law and sons-in-law. She is surely missed, but we know she is always with us.

She is survived by her husband, Ben Crotts; a son, Joey Crotts (Debbie); and 3 daughters, Brenda McAdams (Jimmy), Gwen Cole (Larry) and Sharon Arnold (Randy). She has 5 grandchildren: Jim McAdams, Nathan McAdams, Jeremy Cole, Brittney Lambert and Jonathan Crotts: 7 great grandchildren: Chase, Kenna, Brantley, Jameson, Sam, Jacen and Elizabeth. Her late parents were Jonathan Sylvester Trotter and Charlotte Pearl Hill Trotter. She was also predeceased by her sister, Evelyn Cole and brothers, Odell Trotter and Billy Trotter. Also surviving are her sister Lois Byrum and brothers, Burnis Trotter and J.V. Trotter, and many nieces and nephews.

A service to celebrate Eunice’s life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, September 24, 2019, at St. Paul’s United Methodist Church. Officiating will be Rev. Prentis Harris. A graveside service will also be held on Tuesday at 2:00 p.m. at Oaklawn Cemetery in Asheboro. The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at the church, prior to the service.

We know Mama is in heaven with Mama Trotter and her beloved Daddy Vester, and they are watching over us ever so caring and lovingly.
