Mr. Eugene Emerson “Gene” Boswell, 92, of Graham, died Saturday, January 11, 2020 at Alamance Regional Medical Center.

A native of Caswell County, Mr. Boswell is the husband of Edith Jones Smith Boswell, who survives and the late Irene Parks Boswell. He was the son of the late Lorenzo B. Boswell and the late Myrtle Chandler Boswell.

Mr. Boswell was a veteran of the Korea War, serving with the US Marine Corps and he was also a veteran of the US Navy.

Mr. Boswell retired from AT&T and attended Riverside Baptist Church. He was a volunteer with Meals on Wheels and loved playing golf and traveling.

In addition to his wife, Edith, of the home, Mr. Boswell is survived by his daughter, Carol B. Gordon and her husband, Curtis, of Greenville, NC; two step-sons, Michael E. Smith of Elon and Barry L. Smith of Greensboro; one grandchild, five step-grandchildren and six step-great-grandchildren.

In addition to his wife Irene and his parents, Mr. Boswell was preceded in death by five sisters, Louise Hooper, Helen Foster, Irene Ingold, Erma Pinkston and Ann Pyles.

The family will receive friends Tuesday, January 14, 2020 from 12:30 to 1:45 PM at Rich and Thompson Funeral Home in Graham.

The funeral service will follow at 2:00 PM in the Rich and Thompson Chapel. Officiating will be the Rev. Bob Stephenson. Burial will be in Pine Hill Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Riverside Baptist Church, 1568 E. Harden Street, Graham, NC 27253.
