Emily Durham Parrish

  
Emily has gone to be with Kings and Counselors, her beloved husband Leamon, family and friends all seated at the blessed feet of Jesus Christ, her Lord and Savior. Flights of angels sang her to her rest Thursday afternoon peacefully, with her family at her side. A native of Chatham County she was a loving mother and grandmother and the devoted wife of the Late Leamon E. Parrish, Sr. for 60 years. She was the daughter of the late James Franklin Durham and the late Daisy Mann Durham.

Mrs. Parrish retired from Belk-Beck and had previously worked at Western Electric. She was a member of Northside Presbyterian Church in Burlington, a member of the Ladies Bible Class, former Sunday School Teacher and a Circle chairman.

She is survived by two sons, Leamon E. Parrish, Jr. and wife Debbie of North Myrtle Beach, South Carolina and Gary R. Parrish and his wife Cheryl of Snow Camp, North Carolina; two grandchildren, Rachael P. Davis (husband Jason Davis) and Graham L. Parrish; two step-grandchildren, Derek Williams and Jeremy Williams and one sister Doris Senter and husband Al Senter of Aurora, Illinois.

The family will receive friends Monday, October 29, from 10:00 am until 10:45 am at Rich and Thompson Funeral Home and Crematory in Graham.

Funeral services will follow at 11:00 am in the Rich and Thompson Chapel. Officiating will be the Rev. Jim Mitchell and the Rev. Marc Sanders. Burial will be in Alamance Memorial Park.

The family would like to thank the staff at Blakey Hall that took good care of her these past several years as well as supportive friends and family.
