Dr. Emily Virginia Grantham

Dr. Emily Virginia Grantham passed away September 27th, 2021 at home surrounded by her loved ones.

Dr. Grantham was a retired Professor of Philosophy from Chapel Hill. She was a world traveler and especially loved the beaches. She was an animal lover, and the San Diego Zoo held a special place in her heart.

Survivors include her nephew, Michael Elliot Fisher of Virginia Beach. She was preceded in death by her father, Elonzo “Angel” Bowden Grantham, Rear Admiral, U.S. Navy; her mother, Alice Wright Grantham; and a sister, Anne Grantham Fisher.

A private memorial service will be held on Saturday, December 4, 2021 in celebration of a wonderful life lived by Dr. Grantham.
