Ella Rae Miles Mitchell

Ella Rae Miles Mitchell, 93, of Burlington, died Sunday, October 6, 2019 at the Hospice Home in Burlington.

A native of Alamance County, Mrs. Mitchell was the wife of the late James Wesley Mitchell and the daughter of the late Jacob Warren Miles and the late Robena Oakley Miles.

Mrs. Mitchell was a member of The First Reformed United Church of Christ in Burlington.

Mrs. Mitchell was a former legal secretary and an avid bridge player and golfer.

She is survived by her son, Colonel (Ret.) Mike Mitchell, and his wife, Carol, of Poquoson, Virginia; two daughters, Kaki Mitchell Rogers, and her husband, Tom, of Burlington and Susan Mitchell Nauman, and her husband, Jack, of Gibsonville; six grandchildren, Kasi Collins, David Mitchell, Jeff Mitchell, Mitchell Rogers, John Nauman and Jay Nauman; five great-grandchildren, Wesley Mitchell, Samuel Mitchell, William Rogers, Kate Mitchell and Lena Rae Rogers; and a brother, Johnny Mack Miles and his wife, Bobbie, of Burlington.

In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Mitchell was preceded in death by two brothers, Francis Warren Miles and Raymond Mull Miles.

The family will receive friends Wednesday, October 9, 2019, from 9:30 until 10:45 am at First Reformed United Church of Christ in Burlington.

The funeral service will follow at 11:00 am. Officiating will be the Rev. Phillip R. Myers. Burial will follow in Alamance Memorial Park.
