Elizabeth Ray Shambley

Elizabeth Ray Shambley, 99, of Mebane passed away at the Presbyterian Home of Hawfields on Saturday, November 30, 2019.

A native of Orange County, she was the daughter of Albert Milton Ray and Sally Ann Shambley Ray, both deceased. She retired from the textile industry and was a member of Cross Roads Baptist Church.

Survivors include many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by six sisters, Jessie Drum, Lessie Miller, Mabel Lynch, Mary Belle Dunnagan, Ethel Riley and Emma Lemons Latta; and two brothers, Dallas Ray and Hilliard Ray.

The funeral service will be conducted at the Rich & Thompson Chapel in Burlington on Wednesday, December 4, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. with the family receiving friends from 10:00 until 11:00 a.m. prior to the service. Burial will follow in Cross Roads Baptist Church Cemetery, Hillsborough, NC.
