Eleanor Hayes Cooke

Eleanor Hayes Cooke, 91, of Graham passed away at her residence on Friday, April 5, 2019 at 7:16 a.m.

A native of Alamance County, she was the wife of the late William Rogers “Bill” Cooke, Sr. and daughter of Grady L. “Bud” Hayes and Nellie Jane Ward Hayes, both deceased. Mrs. Cooke was a homemaker and an auxiliary volunteer for 40 years with Alamance County Hospital and Alamance Regional Medical Center. She was a member of Graham Presbyterian Church and the church choir and was also active in church activities.

Survivors include three daughters, Pamala Cooke Green (Dewey), Denise Cooke Moore (Donnie) and Sheryl Cooke Hickman (Eddie); son, William R. “Billy” Cooke, Jr. of Graham; ten grandchildren, Dewey Green (Melissa), Stephanie Green, Beth Graves (Stacey), Susan Aldridge (Brett), Dennis Wilson, Jr. (Jennifer), David Wilson (Amanda), Daniel Hickman, Bryan Hickman, Patricia Moore and Chris Moore; and thirteen great-grandchildren; Megan Tugwell, Kaylee Tugwell, Alex Cauthren, Owen Aldridge, Eden Aldridge, James Graves, Seryn Hickman, Zachary Wilson, Ally Wilson, Andrew Wilson, Taylor Connolly, Caitlynn Moore and Madelynn Stevens. She was preceded in death by a grandchild, Dawn Cooke.

The funeral service will be conducted at Graham Presbyterian Church on Monday, April 8, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. by Dr. Steve Braswell with the family receiving friends in the church parlor from 9:30 until 10:45 a.m.  Burial will follow at Graham Memorial Park.  Other times they will be at the residence.
