Edwin C. Parsons, 65, of 2509 Chaucer Court, Burlington died at the Hospice Home in Burlington on Friday, March 16, 2018 at 6:05 AM.
A native of Alamance County, Ed is survived by his wife Lee Petty Parsons, and his parents Tom and Clarice Allred Parsons, all of Burlington. He worked at Burlington Chemical for over 30 years and later worked in sales and logistics with Peroxygen Solutions, Inc. Ed graduated from Southern Alamance High School and North Carolina State University with a degree in turf management.
Along with the love of his family and friends, he also enjoyed the great game of golf. He was instrumental in helping organize Alamance County’s first AAU baseball team and was an avid supporter of Williams High School, American Legion Post 63, and Elon University baseball programs.
In addition to his wife and parents he is survived by his son, Samuel Logan Parsons of Greensboro; his granddaughter, Emma Carlyle Parsons; a sister, Frankie Parsons Newlin and husband Dr. Boyd M Newlin of Boone, NC; a brother in law, Rev. Jim Petty and wife Jan; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at the Rich & Thompson Chapel in Burlington on Tuesday, March 20, 2018 at 4:00 PM by Rev. Jim Petty.
The family will receive friends prior to the memorial service on Tuesday at Rich & Thompson Funeral Home in Burlington from 2:45 until 3:45 PM. At other times they will be at the residence.
