Alene D. Sessoms

Alene D. Sessoms, 99, of Burlington passed away at the Alamance House on Monday, November 25, 2019, with her family at her side.

Alene was born in Pineville, NC. She was the wife of the late Robert Fulton Sessoms and the daughter of John Moore Davis and Ida Mae Whittington Davis, both deceased. She retired from Belks and was a member of Glen Hope Baptist Church. Alene was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother.

Survivors include a son, Nick Sessoms of Virginia Beach; two daughters, Susan Owen and Sherry Hester (Ben), all of Burlington; four grandchildren, Rob Sessoms (Marcia), Jeff Davis, Jason Hester (Ashley) and Josh Hester (Madison); and seven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a daughter-in-law, Anne Sessoms and a son-in-law, Carl Owen.

The funeral service will be conducted at the Rich & Thompson Chapel in Burlington on Friday, November 29, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. with the family receiving friends from 12:45 until 1:45 p.m. prior to the service. Burial will follow in Alamance Memorial Park. At other times the family will be at the residence of her daughter, Sherry Hester.
