Edith Staunton Ivey

Mrs. Edith Staunton Ivey, 88, of Graham passed away at her residence on Friday, August 17, 2018.

A native of Alamance County, she was the wife of the late Robert Lee Ivey and the daughter of Maurice Robert Staunton and Gladys Davis Staunton, both deceased. Mrs. Ivey was a retired employee with Kayser Roth. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Burlington, where at the age of 14, she began teaching Bible Study and Sunday School.

Survivors include one daughter, Pamela Ivey Norfleet and husband Stuart Baskin Norfleet of Whitsett; two sons, Robert Lee Ivey, Jr. of Tracy, CA and Kenneth Dale Ivey and wife Deniece of Key West, FL; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and three sisters, Edna Copeland, Marie Hill and Dottie Lewis. She was preceded in death by a brother, Larry Dean Staunton.

The funeral service will be conducted at the First Baptist Church of Burlington on Wednesday, August 22, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. by Dr. Terry Peele with the family receiving friends from 12:30 until 1:45 p.m. prior to the service.

The family would like to thank her caregivers especially Kay Thompson, Shani and Tanisha for the love and care they gave her. Also, they would like to thank Hospice of Alamance-Caswell for their unfailing support during this trying time.
