Edith Irene Hicks

Mrs. Edith Roebuck Hicks, 91, of Burlington passed away at White Oak Manor on Thursday, June 21, 2018 at 11:07 a.m.

A native of Martin County, NC, she was the wife of the late James Anderson “Jake” Hicks and the daughter of Alvie Raleigh Roebuck and Irene Williams Roebuck Hall, both deceased. Mrs. Hicks retired from Huey’s Corporation as a bookkeeper. She was a member of Lakeview Community Church.

Survivors include her son, Gary Lane Hicks and wife Vickie Stubblefield Hicks of Burlington; two granddaughters, Jessica Lane Hicks of Burlington and Kathryn Quinn Hicks of Greensboro; and a lifelong friend, Mildred Huey of Graham whom the family extends a special thanks for her love and support. Edith was preceded in death by a brother, Garland Roebuck.

A graveside service will be conducted at Pine Hill Cemetery on Sunday, June 24, 2018 at 4:00 p.m. by Rev. Gerald Sanders. The family will be at the home of Gary and Vickie Hicks, 3475 Mine Creek Road, Burlington, NC.

The family would like to express their gratitude to the staff at White Oak Manor and Hospice and Palliative Care of Alamance-Caswell for the special care and kindnesses extended to Edith.
