Earl Clifford Bentley, 90, of Burlington passed away at his residence on Friday, May 21, 2021.
A native of High Point, he was the husband of Shirley Smith Bentley, who survives and the son of Luther Marcellas Bentley, Sr. and Bernie Warren Bentley, both deceased. He was a veteran of the U. S. Air Force (June 1951 to June 1955) and retired with 20 years of service from General Electric. Earl was a member of Grove Park Baptist Church.
In addition to his wife of their home, survivors include a son, Jeff Bentley of Ft. Lauderdale, FL; two grandchildren, Jessica Bentley and Andrew Bentley; great-grandchild, Landon Bentley; sister, Fay Jean Brinkley; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by four siblings, Ruth Bentley Cross, Hugh Bentley, L. M. Bentley, Jr., and Wrenn Bentley.
The funeral service will be conducted at the Rich & Thompson Chapel in Burlington on Monday, May 24, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. by Pastor Marc Sanders with the family receiving friends from 10:00 until 11:00 a.m. prior to the service. Livestreaming of the service will be available through the website, www.richandthompson.com. Burial will follow at Alamance Memorial Park. If you choose to attend the service, the family request that you please wear a face mask.
