Dorothy "Dottie" Tatum

Dorothy “Dottie” Tatum, 65, passed away on Friday, February 7, 2020 at Alamance Regional Medical Center.

A native of Alamance County, she was the loving wife of 43 years to Thomas Hardy "T.H." Tatum, Jr. and the daughter of the late Hassell Albert Allen, Sr. and the late Dorothy “Dot” Angela Paige Allen. After graduating from Elon College, she worked as a teacher at Haw River Elementary School. She loved all animals, was a loyal NC State fan, and a member of Mebane United Methodist Church.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by daughters, Dorrie Tatum Lassiter (Brandon) and Dana Tatum Smith (Rob); step-sons Tommy Tatum and Chris Tatum; grandchildren, Madison Lassiter, Emerson Smith, Raelyn Smith and Gibson Smith; step-grandchildren, Lauren Clayton, Dyllan “Chris” Tatum, Madison Tatum, Karley Tatum, and Kristen Ingelheim; brother, Hassell “Al” Allen (Lisa); nephews, Spencer Allen, Kyndell Allen and Laine Kerley; and dear friend, Ruthie Holt.

There will be a private graveside service held at Alamance Memorial Park. Friends and family will be received at the Smith home.
