Dorothy Ball Snotherly, 95, of Burlington passed away at AuthoraCare Hospice Home on Monday, January 23, 2023 after two weeks of declining health. A native of Alamance County, she was the wife of 69 years to Paul L. Snotherly, who preceded her in death. She was the daughter of William and Kathryn Ball, both deceased.
Mrs. Snotherly’s greatest joy was being a homemaker to her husband and two children. She loved to work in the yard and was an avid UNC Tarheels basketball fan. She enjoyed watching the PGA tour with her husband when he was alive. She enjoyed many trips to the beach with her family. She was a well-known “jitterbugger” in her younger days. Dot was a lifelong member of Front Street United Methodist Church and a member of the Builder’s Sunday School class. She was a former member of the Chancel Choir and also a former counselor for the Senior High UMYF.
Survivors include a son, Russell A. Snotherly and wife Vickie of Burlington; granddaughter, Kathryn Thomas; grandson, Brandon Snotherly; step-grandsons, Cody Roof and Joseph Williams, Jr.; great grandson, Easton Roney; step-great grandchildren, Noah, Ava, and Sophia Williams.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Gail Snotherly; brother, David Ball; sisters, Marjorie Blue, Sarah Greene, Harriet Hegemann, and Eleanor Sikes.
A memorial service will be conducted at the Rich & Thompson Chapel in Burlington on Saturday, February 4, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. by Reverend Ray Warren with family receiving friends from 9:45 until 10:45 a.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Front Street United Methodist Church Ramp Ministry or AuthoraCare Hospice Home.
