Jean C. Schwegmann, 84, passed away peacefully on May 6th, 2020.
Born on December 23rd, 1935, in Denver, Colorado, the daughter of Howard E. and Adeline L (Oleson) Cooper. As the daughter of a mining engineer, Mrs. Schwegmann lived in Colorado, Arizona, and Connecticut, before her family settled in Central Florida. She received her B.A. Degree in Spanish from Florida State University in 1957. Following her graduation, she received a job offer from the National Security Agency as a translator during the Cuban Missile Crisis. In 1959 she married William “Bill” G. Schwegmann, and settled in Silver Spring, Maryland. They later moved to Burlington, North Carolina, and resided in Twin Lakes Community. She was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Bill, as well as her brother, Jerry Cooper. Mrs. Schwegmann is survived by her children, Jay (Melinda Craig) Schwegmann, Michael (Marty Bowen) Schwegmann, and Sara Koetitz. She is also survived by three grandchildren; Alessandra Koetitz, Carissa Koetitz, and Garrett Schwegmann.
