Donald Reed Kernodle

Donald Reed Kernodle, Jr. passed to his Heavenly home on November 11, 2019 in Marietta, Georgia. He was born to Dr. and Mrs. Donald R. Kernodle on April 14, 1960 in Burlington, NC.

Reed was a proud Eagle Scout who achieved three palms and the God and Country Award. His passion for the outdoors was enjoyed with his father and brothers in hunting and fishing.

Reed graduated from Virginia Episcopal School in Lynchburg, VA in 1979 and the University of South Carolina, B.A. in 1983. A member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon Fraternity, he was an avid Game Cock fan.

His business career in the wine and spirits industry mainly focused in the southeast, working in market managing and retail sales.

He is survived by his loving wife, Maureen; mother, Mrs. Donald Kernodle of Burlington, NC; and two daughters, Campbell Davis (Frank) and Morgan Kernodle, both of Charleston, SC. He is also survived by brothers, John Charles Kernodle (Sarah) of Charlotte, NC, Bob Kernodle (Christiana) of Burlington, NC and William Kernodle (Anne) of Charlotte, NC; sister, Lucy Kernodle West (Ed) of Wilmington, NC; eleven nieces and nephews; many cousins; uncle, Dr. Charles Kernodle of Burlington, NC; and two aunts, Mary Marchant of Greenville, SC and Becky Dodson of Burlington, NC.

He was predeceased in death by his father, Dr. Donald R. Kernodle and grandparents, Dr. and Mrs. Charles Kernodle of Ossipee, NC and Mr. and Mrs. John H. Wilson of Brevard, NC

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at Mt. Zion Methodist Church, 1770 Johnson Ferry Road, Marietta, GA 30062 on Saturday, November 16, 2019 at 2:00 p.m.
