Dianne Thomas Santa

Dianne Lucretia Thomas Santa, 79, of Burlington passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 16, 2024 at AuthoraCare Hospice Home following one year of declining health.

A native of Alamance County, she was the daughter of Obra Thomas and Pauline McBane Thomas, both deceased. 

Dianne worked for 25 years as secretary at the University of North Carolina. She was a member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church in Pittsboro. She volunteered many hours with the Crisis Line and was a long-time member of the Eli Whitney Ladies Auxiliary. She enjoyed helping people and never met a stranger. She was an uplifting and kindhearted woman. Dianne always looked forward to spending time with her family. She was always the first one to say, “thank you”. Dianne enjoyed spending time in the kitchen, making her waffles that she loved and cooking for her family and friends. She took great joy in the simple things in life.

She is survived by her daughter, Dana Scott King and her husband David; son, Thomas N. Santa, Jr. and his wife Michelle; three grandchildren, John Micheal Scott, Elysse, Lauren; from the King side she has three great-grandchildren, Alexis, Madison and Grayson.  She was preceded in death by her two brothers.

A Celebration of Life service will be held on Monday, April 22, 2024, at 4:00 pm in the Rich & Thompson Chapel in Graham. The family will receive friends from 3:00 pm until 4:00 pm prior to the service.

The family would like to thank CenterWell Home Therapy for the wonderful care and attention given to Dianne over the past 4 years.
