Diana Lewis Lee

Mrs. Diana Lewis Lee, 73, of Burlington passed away at Alamance Regional Medical Center on Sunday, September 1, 2019.

A native of Washington, D.C., she was the wife of 51 years to Gregg Carleton Lee, who survives and the daughter of Albert Lee Lewis and Marie Miller Alford Lewis, both deceased. Mrs. Lee was a graduate of Elon College. Diana spent over 40 years caring for and teaching children in Alamance County. She retired as a third-grade school teacher at Grove Park Elementary School. Diana was active in various organizations including Delta Kappa Gamma, National Education Association, NC Association of Educators, and the Elon Study Forum. Diana was a member of the Episcopal Church of the Holy Comforter where she sang in the choir for over 30 years.

In addition to her husband of their home, survivors include two sons, Geoffrey Carleton Lee and wife Jenna Byrd Lee of Matthews and Patrick Alford Lee and fiancé Dawn Miller of Gibsonville; three grandchildren, Alexander Thomas Lee, Caroline Elizabeth Lee and Davis Blair Lee; and a brother, Thomas Edward Lewis and wife Gayle Compton Lewis and their daughter, Jennifer Sayre Lewis.

A memorial service will be conducted at the Episcopal Church of the Holy Comforter on Saturday, September 7th, 2019 at 11 a.m. by Reverend George C. Silides. Interment will immediately follow the service in the Memorial Garden at the church.

Memorials may be made in lieu of flowers to the Episcopal Church of the Holy Comforter, 320 East Davis Street, Burlington, NC 27215 or a charity of choice.
