Darrell E. Hunnicutt

Mr. Darrell E. Hunnicutt, 51, of Graham passed away at UNC Hospitals at Chapel Hill on Thursday, April 12, 2018.

A native of Paterson, NJ, he was the husband of Shelia Bradshaw Hunnicutt, who survives and the son of James Edgar “Jim” Hunnicutt and Stephanie Symenski Hunnicutt, both deceased. Mr. Hunnicutt was a self-employed siding contractor. He was a classic car enthusiast, avid deer hunter and loved to fish and golf. He attended St. Mark’s Church.

In addition to his wife of the home, survivors include a son, Austin Hunnicutt of the home; a daughter, Peyton Hunnicutt of the home; two sisters, Deborah Jones of Graham and Jaime Hunnicutt Wilson and husband Ray of Burlington; two brothers, Leo Vernia and wife Jodi of Snow Camp and Donald Hunnicutt of Burlington; many nieces and nephews; and a large circle of friends.

A funeral service will be conducted at the Rich & Thompson Chapel in Graham on Sunday, April 15, 2018 at 6:00 p.m. by Mr. Tim Hunnicutt with the family receiving friends from 4 until 6 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. Other times they will be at the residence.
