Daniel Monroe Garrett

Daniel Garrett, 81, passed away Wednesday, July 11, 2018.

Dan was born in Guilford County to Walter and Nita Garrett on November 22, 1936. He was the youngest of five children. Maurice, Gene, Fred and Celia have passed.
Dan attended Nathaniel Greene High School graduating in 1955. After high school Dan served in the National Guard. Dan also worked at various locations including Western Auto, The Daily News and National Cash Register before being employed by Xerox Corporation where he retired after 30 years.
Dan was preceded in death by his wife of over 50 years Nancy McArthur Garrett. They were married February 22,1959. He is survived by his sons, Danny and David and his wife Diane and three grandchildren Daniel, Sam and Allie.
A memorial service will be conducted at 4400 Alamance Church Road, Liberty at Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church on Saturday, July 14, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. by Pastor Keith Edwards with the family receiving friends from 9:45 until 10:45 a.m. prior to the service. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
