Dan M. Boswell

Dan M. Boswell, 89, of Graham, passed away Friday, April 23, 2021 at Alamance Regional Medical Center after years of failing health.

A native of Alamance County, Mr. Boswell was the husband of Penny Robertson Boswell and the son of the late Charlie Lee Boswell and the late Merle Hargrove Boswell.

Dan started carrying papers at 10 years old for the Burlington Times News, and continued to work as a pressman, through his graduation in 1951 and worked there for 18 years until he bought and became co-owner of Mebane Enterprise in Mebane, NC. He later worked for Mr. Harry Puckett, and then went into business with partner Louis Jones to establish Boswell-Jones Printing and Rubber Stamps. He retired in 2002.

Mr. Boswell won several awards from the Burlington Lions Club, including Lion of the Year. Later in life Dan took up golfing and had a Certificate of Appreciation from Senior Men’s Golfing Association. He was most proud of a hole in one!

He is survived by his wife, Penny Robertson Boswell, of the home; two daughters, Penny Boswell Jones (Curtis) and Faith Denise Boswell Hall (Charles); two sons, Mark Boswell, (Tonya) and Mike Boswell (Denise); step-sons, Tom Robertson (Belinda) and David Robertson; grandchildren, Heather Boswell Hall, Reese Boswell, Nicole Payne Laxton, Paul Payne, Daniel Nicholson and Kevin Nicholson; great-great-grandchildren, Emilee Hall, Alivia Hall, Riley Driver, Maverick Laxton and Sophia Laxton; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Dan was preceded in death by his siblings, Harold Boswell, Virginia Boswell Stewart, Jean Boswell McDaniel, Don Boswell, Ronald “Pete” Boswell and Joel “Butch” Boswell.

The family will receive friends Tuesday, April 27, 2021 from 11:45 to 12:45 PM at Rich and Thompson Funeral Service in Burlington.

A graveside service will follow at 1:00 PM in Pine Hill Cemetery.
