Mrs. Cozette Cantrell Kernodle, 91, of Union Ridge Road, Burlington passed away at her residence on Sunday, April 14, 2019 and is now in her eternal home.
A native of Alamance County, she was the wife of the late Raymond Wendell Kernodle and the daughter of Van Cantrell and Della Ingle Cantrell, both deceased. Mrs. Kernodle attended the old Isley School on Burch Bridge Road in Burlington and was a retired textile employee. She was a member of Bethlehem Christian Church.
Mrs. Kernodle was the beloved mother to her daughter, Cathy Kernodle Davis and son, Rickey Thomas Kernodle (Debby Carter), both of Union Ridge Road, Burlington. She was a cherished grandmother and great grandmother to two grandchildren Amanda Troxler (Spencer Gaither) and Melissa Anne Kernodle (Joseph Casertano, Jr.) and two great-grandchildren to Jalen Troxler and Aiden Fuller. Other survivors include her brother, Charlie Cantrell; sister, Inez King; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two brothers, George Garland Cantrell and Walter Cantrell; two sisters, Louise Cantrell Huffines and Alma Cantrell; and an infant sister.
The family will receive friends at Rich & Thompson Funeral and Cremation Service in Burlington on Tuesday, April 16, 2019 from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Other times they will be at the residence.
A graveside service will be conducted at Alamance Memorial Park on Wednesday, April 17, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. by Rev. Tommy Marley.
