Colleen Boone

Colleen Garner Boone, 53, of Whitsett passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 14, 2024 at Alamance Regional Medical Center.

A native of Randolph County, she was the loving wife of Mike Boone, who survives and the daughter of Kenneth Odell Garner and Janice Joan Kimbro Garner, both deceased. She was also preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Sarah Kimbro and Odell Kimbro.


Colleen worked at Randolph Hospital for 20 years as a Unit Secretary in the Emergency Department. She was a devoted and active member of Cornerstone Baptist Church in Whitsett, where she was a member of the Ladies Circle, sang in the church choir and enjoyed teaching Sunday school. Colleen loved spending time with her family especially her grandchildren, reading her bible, working in her garden and photography. She was also a member of the Mt. Hope Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary. 

In addition to her husband of their home, survivors include her son; Logan Boone and his wife Amber of Whitsett; three grandchildren, Akahanna Boone, Ariana Boone, Hunter Dean Boone; two sisters, Kathy Tyson and her husband Jeff, Darlene Humble and her husband Bruce; one brother, Kenny Garner; father-in-law and mother-in-law, James and Shirley Boone; brother-in-law, Gerry Boone, sister-in-law, Sarah Byrd and her husband Sam; three nieces, Heather Tyson and her husband Jeremy, Hannah Tyson, Rebecca Tyson Welch and her wife Jasmin; and one nephew, Camden Byrd.


A funeral service will be held on Friday, April 19, 2024 at Cornerstone Baptist Church in Whitsett at 11:00 am with the family receiving friends from 10:00 am until 11:00 am prior to the church service. A burial will follow at Randolph Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the National Kidney Foundation or to St. Jude Children Hospital.
