Coleen Edgerton

Mrs. Coleen Cates Edgerton, 93, passed peacefully from this earth into the presence of her Heavenly Father on Sunday, July 31, 2022 at Compass Healthcare. She was born in Burlington, NC to the late Charlie Jackson Cates and Willie Boone Cates. She was predeceased by her husband, Mack Edgerton and her brother, Carlton Cates.

She graduated from St. Leos Nursing School and was a nurse for 30 years at Alamance County Hospital.

Coleen was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and sister. She truly enjoyed gardening and found great joy in sharing her fruits of labor with others. She loved being surrounded by her family. Survivors include four children, Kenneth A. Edgerton, Jan E. Bomberger (Paul), Charles T. Edgerton and Ann E. Barker (Ted). She also had ten grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren.

The funeral service will be conducted at the Rich and Thompson Chapel in Graham on Friday, August 5, 2022. Visitation will be from 12-2 with the service following by Mr. Ken Harmon. The burial will follow in Graham Memorial Park.
