Mrs. Celia Barrett Burch, 93, of Elon passed away at Blakey Hall on Wednesday, June 26, 2019 at 8:36 a.m.

A native of Peachland, NC, she was the wife of the late C. H. “Ham” Burch and the daughter of Claude Barrett and Jenna Faye Lee Barrett, both deceased. She attended Louisburg Junior College.  Her career included employment at the Pentagon, working as a Civil Servant, as a legal and medical stenographer and secretary. Additionally, she was a bookkeeper, Vice-President, and Secretary for Burch-Simmons Dodge. She was a member of the First Christian United Church of Christ.

Survivors include two sons, Haley Burch and wife Donna of Browns Summit, and Keith Burch of Raleigh; sister, Eleanor Falls of Virginia; two brothers, David Barrett of Forest, VA and Jimmy Barrett of Roanoke, VA; seven grandchildren, Julie Ezzell Ross and Jennifer Ezzell Stowe, both of Fairfax, Virginia, Daniel Carson Burch of San Jose, CA, Harrison Taylor Burch and Erika Katelyn Burch, both of Durham, Erin Michele Crissman of Sacramento, CA and Darrel Thomas Zeh of Kennesaw, GA; and nine great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her beloved daughter, Rebecca Faye Burch Ezzell and two sisters, Sue Kostecki and Noma Lee Whitt.

A graveside service will be conducted at Alamance Memorial Park on Saturday, June 29, 2019 at 11:30 a.m., with the family receiving friends at Rich & Thompson Funeral and Cremation Service in Burlington from 10:00 until 11:00 a.m., prior to the service.
