Carolyn Green McCall, 77, of Graham passed away at AuthoraCare Collective Hospice Home on Monday, May 30, 2022.
A native of Alamance County, she was the daughter of Charles Douglas Green and Cornelia Melton Green, both deceased. Finding joy and fulfillment in the service of others, decades of her career included serving as the Toyland Director and Purchasing Agent of Christmas Cheer and an administrator of Hospice of Alamance-Caswell. A faithful follower of Christ, Carolyn was most recently a member of New Covenant Fellowship Church but was a member of People's Memorial Christian Church for many years prior.
Ever the adventurous spirit, Carolyn adored interacting with horses. As a young woman she spent years breaking and training horses as well as barrel racing competitively. She loved fishing, especially at her family's lake cabin, and had a knack for hooking large bass. Carolyn was known to some as "Little Miss Sunbeam", having won a national look-alike contest in 1954. She treasured her many friendships and delighted in the times they shared together. Her life's most cherished role, however, was that of mother and grandmother. She lavished her family with love and made every event a celebration.
Survivors include two daughters, Ginger Starling Strickland and husband Kendall of Graham and Cortni Starling Lilley and husband Russell of Chocowinity, NC; a son, John Allen Murray, Jr. and wife Paula of Burlington; eight grandchildren, Bailey S. Bunting and husband Tanner, Hannah C. Strickland, Abigail R. Lane, Paisley G. Murray, McKenna B. Murray, Harper R. Lilley, Carson R.
