Carolyn Atkins Lloyd

Carolyn Atkins Lloyd, 78, passed away on Saturday, January 21, 2023 at the Hospice Home in Burlington after several years of failing health.

A native of Orange County, she was the daughter of Oscar Wiley Atkins and Cora Bell McAdams Atkins both deceased. She was the wife of 53 years to the late William Harold “Joe” Lloyd.

Carolyn graduated from Aycock High School in Cedar Grove, NC. She retired from Chandler Concrete where she worked for over 30 years. She was a member of Bellemont United Methodist Church. Carolyn loved Jesus and truly adored her family

Survivors include her sons, William Dwain Lloyd (Leeanne) of Burlington and Joseph Scott Lloyd(Jennifer) of Murfreesboro, TN; grandchildren Marissa Faye Lloyd and Madi Beth Lloyd of Burlington and Reagan Bell Lloyd of Murfreesboro, TN; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her sister, Remell Atkins Paris and brothers, Billy J. Atkins, Bobby G. Atkins, and Carl C. Atkins.

The family will receive friends from 12:30 pm – 1:45 pm on Tuesday, January 24, 2023 at Rich & Thompson Funeral Home in Burlington followed by a Funeral Service at 2:00 pm in the Rich & Thompson Chapel officiated by Rev. Farron Duncan and Rev. Don Lloyd.

At other times, the family will receive friends at the home of Carolyn.
