Obituary

Caroline Bronstein Novello, 82, of Burlington, North Carolina, passed away on Saturday, October 16, 2021. Born in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, on January 23, 1939, she was the beloved daughter of Charles and Alice (Holland) Bronstein and sister of Russell, all of whom preceded her in death.

She met and married her husband of 61 years, Frank Novello, in Harrisburg and together they raised three daughters, Cathy Novello, Laura Novello Miller and Amy Novello Matthews. She was the family’s lead cheerleader, attending and supporting her daughters at every basketball and softball game, gymnastics and diving meet and dance recital in Mountain Lakes, New Jersey, and Zionsville, Indiana.

She taught her girls to be strong, independent women and encouraged them throughout life in their personal and professional pursuits. Not a day went by when she didn’t tell her daughters how proud she was of them and how much she loved them.

Caroline graduated in 1960 from Cedar Crest College in Allentown, Pennsylvania, with a degree in History. She never stopped learning, though, and fed her curiosity of history, life and love through her volunteer activities, friendships and hobbies. No matter where she lived, Caroline transformed her back yard into the town’s grandest garden. She loved to read, often getting lost in thick novels that, once completed, lined her bookshelves throughout her home. In recent years, she was a loyal book club participant, joining her friends and neighbors in Twin Lakes in weekly discussions.

Caroline and Frank loved to travel with Caroline serving as the planner and guide. They traveled the world, visiting 55 countries and collecting memories that are displayed in photographs throughout her home. She also introduced her first grandson, Alex Miller, to must-see destinations in the United States and Europe throughout his childhood, taking him on annual summer vacations and explorations.

Caroline is survived by her husband and three daughters, Cathy and her spouse, Vicki, Amy and her spouse, Clay, and Laura. She delighted in her four grandchildren, Alex, Gina, Chase and Valerie and her two great grand twins, Charlie and Sam.

Celebration of life services are private, with her final resting place at the Twin Lakes Memory Garden in Sullivan Park.
