Carl Dean “CD” Cobb, 85, was a loving husband, father and grandfather, passed away on Friday, September 21, 2018 at the Hospice Home in Burlington
A native of Alamance County, he was the husband of 63 years to Patricia Lunsford Cobb and son of the late Felix L. Cobb and the late Vada Pearson Cobb.
CD retired after 38 years of service with Western Electric/AT&T as a computer programmer. After retirement, he worked in real estate. He was a member of St. Marks Church, the ALA-CAS Hunting Club, and the Alamance County Board of Realtors. He was an avid hunter, fisherman, and in his younger day, he coached many years in youth baseball leagues. A true “family” man, he always put the needs of others before his own.
In addition to his wife of the home, CD is survived by one daughter, Carla Cobb of Burlington; two sons, Lin Cobb and his wife Breta of Burlington and Ty Cobb of Carolina Beach; six grandchildren, Lindsey Cobb Thompson and her husband Daniel, Lauren Cobb, Clay Cobb, Jeffery Cobb, Colby Williams and Kiley Williams; and two great-grandchildren, Jett Thompson and Ridge Thompson.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM, Tuesday, September 25, 2018 at St. Marks Church. The burial will follow at Pine Hill Cemetery.
The family will receive friends on Monday, September 24, 2018 from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at Rich and Thompson Mortuary in Burlington. At other times, the family will be at the residence.
