Candee Andrews Herndon

Candee Andrews Herndon, 56, of Chapel Hill, passed away at her home with her loved ones by her side on January 3, 2021. 

A native of Chapel Hill, Candee was the loving wife of Rubin Connie Herndon III and daughter of the late Berry Gene Andrews and Joanne Andrews, who survives. She was a hair stylist for 37 years. Candee loved her family, friends, bluegrass music and the Carolina Tar Heels. She lived for her two young grandchildren. She was loved by everyone in her community and known for her kind heart. All who knew Candee would say she lived her life to the absolute fullest. 
 
Surviving are her husband of 35 years, Rubin Connie Herndon III, of the home; daughter, Cassie Meeker (Bobby), son Chase Herndon all of Chapel Hill; two grandchildren, Kylie Jo and Ryker; two sisters Donna Greene (Kim) and Tammie Vierra (Billy) all of Chapel Hill; and several nieces and nephews. 

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.

While the family would love to see everyone in person, at this time there will only be a drive-by memorial. The family will wave at friends at the residence of Cassie Meeker on January 16th from 1:00-3:00. You are welcome to memorialize Candee from your vehicle in any way you like. Candee loved a celebration, so we will have a safe one for now, when we can gather together we will dance and sing.
