Brenda Anne Hay Rich Tipton

 

Brenda Anne departed life on this beautiful earth Monday, March 11, 2019. She was a resident of the Village at Brookwood,

 

Brenda was born January 8, 1940 in Alamance County and lived her entire life there. She was the daughter of the late E. “Pat” and Velna D. Hay and wife of W. Joseph Rich and William Frank Tipton, both deceased.

 

Brenda was a 1958 graduate of Williams High School and attended Greensboro College and Duke University Para-Med School. She worked for Kayser-Roth, Inc. in Management Information Systems for 32 years and for Alamance Regional Medical Center (Cone Health) in the Recovery Room (PACU) as a Unit Clerk for 15 years. She also volunteered in Same Day surgery at Alamance Regional Medical Center for several years.

 

Enriching life for her has always been music, animals, friends, travel, family, books, movies, Turner Classic Movies, trains, UNC Basketball, Sunday school, WCPE radio and UNC-TV. She was fortunate to go on wonderful train trips such as American Orient Express and Grande Luxe Rail Journeys.

 

Brenda was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Burlington and was a chancel choir member there and at Front Street United Methodist Church for many years.

 

Survivors include a sister, Patsy Hay Baker and husband Lawton of Portsmouth, VA and nephews, Lt. Col. Miles Baker and wife Hannah of Washington, DC and Dr. Samuel H. Baker of Mobile, AL. She was preceded in death by her much-loved four-legged children (all in dog heaven) Dayze, Toby, Cassie, Ben, Henri, Brianna and Max.

 

There will be no visitation. A graveside service will be conducted in Pine Hill Cemetery on Friday, March 15, 2019 at 3:00 p.m., followed by a reception at the Village at Brookwood.
