Mr Billy McPherson

Billy McPherson, 87, of Graham, passed away on Saturday, August 11, 2018 at the Hospice Home in Burlington.

A native of Orange County, NC, he was the husband of Jo Ann Perry McPherson, who survives, and the son of S.I. McPherson and Katie Strayhorn McPherson, both deceased. He graduated from Eli Whitney High School and was a veteran of the United States Navy. Mr. McPherson was employed at O.G. Thompson Construction for over 30 years and retired from Chandler Concrete. He was a faithful member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church.

In addition to his wife, survivors include two children, Terry G. McPherson and wife Lynn of Graham and Deanne McPherson Vaughn and husband Mickey of Graham; four grandchildren, Carla McPherson Fuller and husband Bryant of Charlotte, Casey McPherson Allred and husband Andy of Graham, Nicki Vaughn of Greensboro, and Stacey Vaughn McGlothlin and husband Jonathan of Snow Camp; four great grandchildren, Mattie and Miles Fuller, Ella Allred, and Noah McGlothlin; and one brother, Charles McPherson and wife Betty of Mebane.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Virginia McPherson Hamby and his twin brother, Bobby McPherson.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, August 14, 2018 at Mt. Olive Baptist Church with Rev. David Crowther and Rev. Perry Hardison officiating. Burial will immediately follow in the Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends on Monday, August 13 from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at the Rich and Thompson Funeral Home and Crematory in Graham. At other times, the family will be at the residence.

The family would like to thank the staff of the Hospice Home in Burlington for the special care given to Mr. McPherson.
