Billie Jean (Smith) Hair

Billie Jean (Smith) Hair, 85, of Burlington passed away peacefully on May 30, 2022 at her residence surrounded by family.

A native of Alamance County, she was the wife of Robert Norwood Hair (Bob) who survives, and the daughter of Harold Odell Smith, Sr. and Annie Jones Smith, both deceased.

Billie graduated Mebane High School and attended Warren Wilson College in Swannanoa, NC. She retired from Burlington Industries after 33 years of service.

She was a member of Graham Presbyterian Church for 46 years. She recently received the 2022 Presbyterian Women Honorary Life Membership Award.

In addition, to her husband of the home, survivors also include two daughters, Renee Emery (Gary); Anne Hinshaw (Glenn); and Mimi to two grandsons whom she absolutely adored, Drew Hinshaw and Luke Hinshaw, a sister Karen Smith Oldham (Harold), as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.

Billie was preceded in death by her parents and her two brothers Harold Odell Smith, Jr. and Phillip Smith.

There will be a memorial service at Graham Presbyterian Church on Thursday, June 2, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. The family will receive family and friends immediately following the service.
