Betty Sue Webster Smith
Betty Sue Webster Smith, 90, of Mebane passed away at her residence on Wednesday, July 21, 2021.
A native of Alamance County, she was the wife of the late Linwood Neal Smith and the daughter of Jesse David Webster and Nina Bettie Ray Webster, both deceased. She was a homemaker and a former employee at Belk Beck department store. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Mebane.
Survivors include a daughter, DeAnne Smith Edwards and husband Danny of Mebane; two sons, Ricky Neal Smith and wife Juliana and Barry Lynn Smith, all of Mebane; four grandchildren, Amy Elizabeth Cannady and husband Jason of Mebane, Christopher Daniel Edwards and wife Megan of Mebane, Erin Rae Breiner and husband Rob of Wake Forest, Meredith Leigh Smith Beasley and husband Will of Burlington; eight great-grandchildren, Neil Edwards, Madelyn Cannady, Leah Edwards, Emmelyn Cannady, Kylee Edwards, Benjamin Breiner, Eli Breiner, and Parker Leigh Beasley; and three siblings, Peggy Smith, of Mebane, Janet Wilkinson, of Mebane and David Webster, of Ft. Mill, SC. She is also survived by her beloved “friend and companion”, “Heidi”.
The funeral service will be conducted at the First Baptist Church of Mebane on Saturday, July 24th, 2021 at 12:00 p.m. by Rev. Sammy Ballard. The family will receive friends at the church from 11:00 a.m. until 12 noon, immediately prior to the service. Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery.
