Betty Gray Coble Vaughn, 93, a resident of Swepsonville, passed away Friday, September 27, 2019 at Mebane Ridge.
A native of Swepsonville, NC, Mrs. Vaughn was the wife of the late Robert R. “Bob” Vaughn and the daughter of the late Carl Coble and the late Beatrice Isley Coble Wood and Papa Handy.
Betty was a retired hairdresser and a member of Swepsonville United Methodist Church.
She is survived by two daughters, Jenny V. Ayers(Junior), and Carrie V. Fogleman(Steve); a son, David Vaughn(Shelby) all of Swepsonville and a son, Tink Vaughn(Bonnie) of Mahomet, IL; grandchildren, Clint Ayers, Stephanie Burr(Russell), Michelle Handy(Travis), Robin Kime(Keith), Julie Creek and John Vaughn(Jody); great-grandchildren, Grant Handy and Steven Handy, Bailey Burr, Will and Chandler Kime, Cydney, Tristan and Zane Creek, and Jack and Luke Vaughn.
In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Vaughn was preceded in death by her sisters, Alice C. Newlin, Jack Farrell, Mildred Roberson, and Nell Rudisill and a brother, George “Buck” Coble.
The funeral service will be 3:00 PM Sunday, September 29, 2019 at the Rich & Thompson Chapel in Graham, NC with the family receiving friends from 1:00 until 2:45 PM on Sunday. Burial will follow in Graham Memorial Park. At other times the family will be at Betty’s residence in Swepsonville.
