Betty Jane Robertson Murray

Betty Jane Robertson Murray, 90, of Burlington, passed away on Saturday, November 2, 2019 at Liberty Commons.

A native of Alamance County, she was the wife of the late Homer Banks Murray and the daughter of the late Willie Bruce Robertson and the late Swannie Mozelle Isley Murray. She was a seamstress and retired from Hole-In-None Hosiery Mill. Betty was a member of Carolina Christian Church where she was the church treasurer and an assistant teacher for 35 years.

She is survived by her son, Rodney Murray and his wife Sally of Charlotte; daughter, Sheila M Shotwell and her husband Tony of Haw River; grandchildren, Brent Shotwell and his wife Caitlin, Allyson Cooper and her husband Zack, Emily Shotwell and Jennifer Murray; sister-in-law, Mildred Robertson and brother-in-law, Elton Vaughn.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by sisters, Mary Vaughn, Hortense White, Helen Stewart and Norma Smith; and brothers, William Robertson, Harold Robertson and James Robertson.

The funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, November 5, 2019 at Carolina Christian Church by Pastor Mark Mitchell and Pastor Scott London. The family will receive friends from 12:30-1:30 pm prior to the service at the church. Burial will follow in Alamance Memorial Park.
