Betty Jean Dixon Hunter, 88, formerly of Burlington passed away at Liberty Commons on Monday, September 7, 2020 at 6:33 p.m.
Mrs. Hunter was born and raised in Haw River, NC. She was the wife of the late Kenneth Steele and the late Carl Lee Hunter and the daughter of David Clarence Dixon and Nellie C. Jones Dixon, both deceased. She was formerly employed for many years with A & P Grocery Store and Annedeen Hosiery. Betty Jean enjoyed life, spending time with her family, friends and especially her grandchildren. She was a member of New Covenant Fellowship Church.
Survivors include two daughters, Donna Henderson and husband Jimmy of Graham and Debbie Webster of Haw River; grandchildren, Melanie Howell and husband Michael and Justin Henderson and wife Jordan; eight great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Wendy Webster; son-in-law, Joe Webster; and two brothers, Ronnie and Donnie Dixon.
The funeral service will be conducted at New Covenant Fellowship Church on Friday, September 11, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. by Rev. David Neff and Rev. David Jackson with the family receiving friends from 12:30 until 1:45 p.m. prior to the service. Burial will follow in Haw River Cemetery. Other times, the family will be at the home of Donna and Jimmy Henderson, 557 Cheeks Lane, Graham, NC.
