Obituary

Betty Burns Goldston, 92, a resident of the Twin Lakes Community, died Tuesday, June 11, 2019.

Mrs. Goldston was a native of Harnett County and the wife of the late John A. Goldston. She was the daughter of the late Marvin Henry Burns and the late Bessie Lee Sykes Burns.

A long time fixture of the local community, Mrs. Goldston cherished her role as a caregiver to children. One of her favorite pastimes was making bracelets with her sister and giving them away. She loved to collect dolls.

Mrs. Goldston is survived by her daughter, Carolyn Goldston of Burlington; two sons, Gary Goldston (Misty Carter) of Gibsonville and Gregory Goldston (Robin) of Cooper City, Florida; thirteen grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Goldston was preceded in death by a daughter, Sandra Goldston; two sons, John A. Goldston, Jr. and David Goldston; one sister and three brothers.

A graveside service will be held Thursday, June 13, 2019 at 2:00 pm in Linwood Cemetery. Officiating will be the Rev. Steven Taylor.

The family will receive friends at the residence of the daughter, Carolyn, 1404 W. Webb Ave., Burlington.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 225 N. Michigan Ave., Fl. 17, Chicago, IL 60601.
