Betty Lou Ervin Cox

Betty Lou Ervin Cox, age 91, entered her next life June 17, 2018 at the Village of Brookwood.

She was born and raised in Decatur, Illinois, December 15, 1926. Betty holds undergraduate, seminary, and two doctoral degrees and has been a wife, loving mother, college professor, dean, and private psychotherapist and marriage and family therapist.

Betty met her husband-to-be at age 15. They were married five years later, June 25, 1948 and will have celebrated 70 years of happy married life in eight days. She leaves a host of friends, hundreds of former students, colleagues, her husband Richard and their three children, Rebecca Schmidt, Joanna Causley, and David Cox, as well as 10 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren, and 7 great-great grandchildren.

A Service of Resurrection will be held at the Graham Presbyterian Church, Saturday June 23, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. A private interment will precede the service. The Rev.Dr. Steve Brasswell, is officiating.
