Bettie Robertson Howerton

Bettie Robertson Howerton, 89, passed away on Sunday March 11, 2018 at Edgewood Place at The Village at Brookwood after two months of declining health. She was a native of Graham, NC, retired from the Times-News, and was a member of Emmanuel United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, William Cletus “Clete” Robertson and Virgie Thomas Walker Robertson, and brother Richard "Dickie" Robertson.
Survivors include her husband of 69 years, Charles V. “Jack” Howerton of Burlington, daughters Jackie Lynn Howerton (Robert Hodge) of North Carolina and Susi Ray (Darrell) of Florida, and sister Jackie R. Snyder of Virginia.
A private graveside memorial will be held at Alamance Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care of Alamance-Caswell, 914 Chapel Hill Road, Burlington, NC 27215. The family sends a special thank you to the staff of Edgewood Place and Hospice for all their care and compassion.
