Mr. Benny Ray “Cotton” Lowe, 79, of Liberty went home to be with his Lord and Savior and was welcomed by his beloved family, friends, and fur baby Corky on Saturday, June 29, 2019 at his residence after a year of failing health and a critical illness of one week.
A native of Alamance County, he was the husband of Brenda Clark Lowe, and son of the late Benjamin Theodore Lowe and Maggie Sharpe Lowe. He was a retired textile employee. Benny was a member of Burlington Assembly of God and the Dan River Prison Ministry. He loved having fun with his grandkids, great grand daughter and family as well as his beloved dogs, Sophie and Corky. He loved being outside, mowing yards and working in his wood shop. He was an avid race and football fan.
Surviving are his wife of 60 years, Brenda Clark Lowe; his fur baby, Sophie; two daughters, Pam Warren and Julie Irby (Barry); three grandchildren, Jeffrey Forbis (Ashley), Joshua Warren and Casey Warren (Cecilia); a great granddaughter, Paisley Forbis; two brothers, Robert Lowe (Barbara) and Dexter Lowe (Nancy); four sisters, Sue Brooks, Bonnie Lowe, Sylvia McCormick (Donnie) and Rhonda Branham (Mike); as well as several nieces and nephews. Benny was preceded in death by a daughter, Annette Martin; a brother, Johnny Lowe; and three sisters, Shirley Conklin, Patsy Shambley, and Priscilla Watkins.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Tuesday, July 2, at Burlington Assembly of God with Pastor Bryan Rainbow and Pastor Howard Thompson officiating. Burial will follow at Alamance Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends at Rich & Thompson Funeral Service in Burlington from 6 – 8 PM, Monday evening and other times at the residence.
