Basil Leon Holland

Mr. Basil Leon Holland, 83, of Burlington passed away at his residence on Monday, April 22, 2019 at 1:17 a.m.

A native of Ridgeway, VA, he was the husband of Shirley Ann Cates Holland, who survives and the son of Reuben Reed Holland and Fannie Isabelle Baker Holland, both deceased. Mr. Holland was a veteran of the U. S. Air Force and retired employee of Carolina Biological Supply Company. He was a member of the American Legion Post 63 and of the Baptist faith.

In addition to his wife of the home, survivors include a son, Wayne Holland and wife Jackie of Burlington; three daughters, Phyllis Campbell, Vickie A. Reynolds and husband Jerry, and Ellen Conrad, all of Burlington; two sisters, Barbara Garland of Alamance County and Margaret Carden and husband Garfield of Burlington; two brothers, Richard Holland and wife Patricia of Graham and Charlie Holland and wife Helen of Madison; nine grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two sisters and six brothers.

A memorial service will be conducted at the Rich & Thompson Chapel in Burlington on Thursday, April 25, 2019 at 4:00 p.m. by Rev. Gene Cates and Rev. Don Pegg with the family receiving friends from 3:00 until 4:00 p.m. prior to the service.  At other times the family will be at the residence.
