Barbara Ann Spoon Thrift

 

 

(Saxapahaw)   On this date, September 15, 2020, Barbara Ann Spoon Thrift, who was born on October 17, 1942, went home to be with her Lord and Savior at the age of 77.

 

A native of Alamance County, she was the daughter of the late Clyde Branson Spoon and Annie Willard Spoon. Also preceding her are her sisters, Colene Anderson, Alene Lloyd and Pauline Phillippie, and brothers, Clyde B. Spoon, Jr., Richard Spoon and Donald Spoon.

 

She was the wife of O. D. Thrift for 60 years, who survives. Also surviving are two sons, David Lynn Thrift (former wife Lisa, who she loved as a daughter) and Allen Dennis “Denny” Thrift (Karen); grandsons, Ryan Thrift (Alyssa) and Chase Thrift (Lindsey); step-grandson, Joshue Coe (Ashley); one granddaughter, Rebekah Eden Thrift; along with great-grandchildren, Adyson Lynn Thrift, Hunter Orian Thrift and Orin Parker Thrift; a step-great-granddaughter, Lennon Rose Coe; and several nieces and nephews.

 

Mrs. Thrift formerly worked for Sellers Manufacturing and Dixie Yarns in Saxapahaw.

 

The funeral service will be conducted at Moore’s Chapel Baptist Church on Sunday, September 20, 2020 at 3:00 p.m. by Rev. Doug Durham and Rev. Donahue Troyer. Burial will follow at Moore’s Chapel Cemetery. The family request everyone attending please wear a mask.
